Thanksgiving sale is a big deal in the USA. Same for me too, even I wait and want to buy my essentials duing this season. As a mark of resolution for this year of buying only natural fibers , I started at with departmental stores as ots single stop for group of brands. With all the winter starting my list had 2 sweaters, 2 leggings , blazer , quilts and Comforter and pj .Started with  Nordstrom, Followed by Macys ,Kohls .  To my disappointment I figured out only designer brands or ethical fashion ecommerce websites have 100% wool , 100% cotton etc etc. I returned out of these stores with disappointment and tears. ts tiring to see each tag but Idid for myself. EVery tag I saw on apparel there was nothing with atleast 50% cotton , linen, wool etc.  Got wool n cotton leggings from Hue , lamb wool Sweater from J crew, wool n cotton blend jacket style from Ralph lauren , craft and borrow crew neck sweater , cashmere long sleeve top from charter club , wool polo ralph lauren blazer , Big on

One of the solution for being a part of this sustainable fashion movement and green living is going local #golocal .Always attend a local fair and flea markets in your town. During holiday season a lot are arranged, these days even in local farmers markets people are setting up thier stalls with their handmade items.To be more concious of what you are buying check if they are sourcing the raw materials or goods from local vendors and suppliers.If they are then the complete supply chain is local. In my view this is 100% green lifestyle product. Yesterday for the first time iRA Threads visited a local flea.

Everyday is Earth Day This piece of my blog is for all the conscious living people who want to save their share of the world.No wonder we all want to save the whole world, lets start by adding our pure tiny drops into the ocean.     Dedicated eco people ,First and formost make sure you see the label before buying.Atleast 50% should be natural fiber then you are atleast saving 50% of the earth as only natural fibers will decompose to organic matter faster and sooner. " Check the tags " Tags inside your fabric-clothes  We can donate good condition clothes directly to known local charities who are actually able to share it with the needy.    No time to search and your clothes are too old to be worn by any one.Yearly big companies do clothes collection drives during holiday season , so wait for it.Then there would be a clothes recycle bin of known organisations salvation army, goo

  In this year did you ever think of donation clothes or any form of fabric from your house.       Most of us think of donating old clothes rather than throwing away in trash. We go drop them in donation boxes, salvation army/thrift stores or any charity which does clothes collection drives.This is done with a very good intention, " the items which we do not need any more may be useful to someone in some part of the world " . Did you ever think of this someone when buying a new shirt or blouse to add to the clutter of your closet ? Never ! Am always amazed by the look and feel of fabric. A small cotton shrub grows and flowers,that white fury thing gets converted to these soft smooth cloths. A silk worm secretes its excess love and we get the lustrous swabs which is made into beautiful silk fabric. Natures love into cloth . Never knew my love for textile, fabrics, handloom, hand weaves could be made into something. I want to tell my small story of sale and coupon temptation.Also comparing warehouse prices to commercial store prices.   A week ago when i wanted to start sewing on new fabric,did some online research and found a few stores in Dallas which would be good for my small pocket. I drove 15 miles to find the place. A lane filled with fabric,upholister,rugs,spandex stores. From a blog got to know fabrics or super textiles is the shop to try first. Spent around 2 hours and picked up amazing gauze,cotton fabrics and 2 rayons for a total of 24$. They had so many cotton solids. Superb quality.There reminant basket had a lot but didnt have patience or energy left so got one blue rayon for skirt sewing. Felt so happy for the cost. In my view the store is great. Each fabric was 3$/yard. 1$/2$, You wont find many. Lot of choice of spandex, solid knits and wonderful printed rayons. Best is I get my favorite ,amazing cottons and muslins etc.I went to the place without any expectations and no idea i
