Organic Basic essentials - underwear and bra Sustainable, Ethical & on Budget

 It has been so difficult to choose what's the right undergarments' to buy for every season. Now with this eco bug of sustainable and green living its even more difficult.  As a person to start doing the right thing for planet is the first step. I choose to wear only natural fiber. This made my life a bit easier . Rather than going gaga about high end brands, I search for natural fiber clothing in regular stores. That's going one step closer to sustainable lifestyle. Every wondered What underwear should I wear. To start with departmental store shopping.  Walmart is the best place to find all the undergarments with are 100% cotton underwear from Hanes & fruit and loom are the best. Walmart also has few bra which are wire free, lined simple everyday wear bras.  Amazon prime has Fruit of the loom women wire free cotton bralette 2-pack. Eco Friendly Packing:Starts @ Home

Cling wraps and aluminium foils are used a lot when we have parties, take out food during travel  and pack lunches.The best is was bee wax wraps (or) beewax cling wraps.
         Buy the ingredients , melt and tada its ready to use

Read till end as most important part is in between each word,

Ingredients

  • Beewax    - 1/2 cup
  • Pine resin - 1/4 cup
  • Jajoba / coconut oil -1/4 cup


Instructions
There are three methods to do this, read all choose your convenient one...
  • Grate the wax if u have a log , if pellets use directly.
  • Grind the pine resin for any lumps.Hand pound pls, if u use a mixer its tough to clean
Method 1:

  • Measure all 3 and pour in double boiler and let it melt completely.
  • Use steel tongs to dip the cloth,let it get coated with wax with left hand.Lift it up and use right hand to twist the cloth so extra wax come off.
  • Lay it on baking paper or Air dry
  • Once completely dry lay another baking paper on top and Iron to remove extra lumps

Method 2

  • Measure 3 ingredients and keep aside.
  • Heat oven to 200 F,Lay a baking paper on the tray ,place fabric on the sheet
  • Sprinkle 3 ingredients with approximately 50:25:25 ratio and then place it in Oven.
  • Keep checking, once beewax melts take it out and spread with brush.Repeat if you find any lumps


Method 3

  • Measure 3 ingredients and keep aside.
  • Sprinkle 3 ingredients with approximately 50:25:25 ratio 
  • Place baking sheet at bottom,lay all your fabric to be waxed as a pile one above other (say 3 fat quaters)
  • Sprinkle wax on the center piece,cover with another fabric then baking sheet
  • Iron the whole pile.Keep ironing changing direction adding the mix, till whole fabric is coated.
  • This is laborious method.


Tips
One the wax starts wearing out ,

  • Re-wax the cloth (or)
  • Insert a thread in the slot ,pull n tie knot and use
  • Be gentle please this is beewax. Its as gentle as a flower. Take the most care while you are cleaning it.
  • Gentle wipe with dishwash soap.1 drop of soap + 1 cup water.Dip a kitchen towel and wipe delicately.
